Understanding the Unique Challenges of Military Life

Military service is more than a career—it's an experience that can shape your identity, relationships, and the way you navigate the world.

Whether you're serving on active duty, transitioning to civilian life, or supporting a loved one in the military, the challenges you face are unique. Deployments, separation from family, relationship stress, anxiety, trauma, and adjusting to life after service can take an emotional toll.

You may feel pressure to remain strong, put others first, or handle difficult experiences on your own. But seeking support isn't a sign of weakness. It's an opportunity to reconnect with yourself, strengthen your relationships, and move forward with greater confidence.

You deserve a space where your experiences are understood, your story matters, and you don't have to explain military culture from the beginning.

A Therapist Who Understands Because She's Been There

As a Navy veteran, I understand firsthand the commitment, sacrifices, and challenges that come with military service.

I spent five years serving in the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsman, working in a Naval hospital in Virginia. During my service, I supported service members and their families through medical treatment, surgery, and recovery.

My military experience also shaped my personal life. I understand the challenges of being far from family, navigating relationships, and balancing personal responsibilities with the demands of military service.

Today, I bring that lived experience into my work as a therapist, offering a compassionate, nonjudgmental space for veterans, active-duty service members, and military families.

Whether you're struggling with anxiety, processing difficult experiences, navigating relationship challenges, or adjusting to a new chapter of life, you don't have to face it alone.

My goal is to help you feel heard, understood, and supported as you navigate life during and after military service.
